SmartLipo  vs Traditional Liposuction

Traditional liposuction is often done under general anesthesia. Loose skin remains where fat is sucked out. A 4-to 6-mm tube sucks out solid fat which inevitably causes tissue trauma. Traditional liposuction uses a vacuum with a metal tube attached, which the doctor moves back and forth manually. Because the human hand cannot bevery precise, there is bleeding, swelling and destruction of tissue. This causes pain and bruising resulting in downtime from work usually up to a week.
SmartLipo is done with local anesthesia. A 1-mm tube fitted with laser melts fat with little trauma. Due to the cannula's small size, Smartlipo™ is a minimally invasive procedure. The laser causes small blood vessels to coagulate immediately on contact, resulting in less bleeding, swelling and bruising, - and a quicker recovery time than conventional liposuction. Because general anesthesia is unnecessary, the procedure is very safe with only minimal side effects. Within the next 6-8 weeks, the skin and surrounding area will remodel and adjust to the body contour. This is a gradual process and the best results are seen after 2 months. The downtime is minimal and the patient can usually return to work within 24 hours.
